Funny how long its’ been

Posted on: March 1st, 2016 by simon | Leave a comment

It’s funny how long it’s been since I updated here. It’s been like a rollercoaster ever since. This summer I changed my way of living pretty drastically. I started walking with prosthetics and guess what? It helped me a lot in my skiing as well due to stronger leg strength. This season I have managed to qualify to the World cup in slalom which has made me super happy and I’m on my way to qualify in giant slalom as well. Two weeks ago I was in Spain competing in the Europa cup and I managed to clinge a 6th spot in GS and a 5th spot in slalom among some really good mono skiers. In a few weeks the plan is to travel to the Europa cup finals in Obersaxen, Austria and I’ve taken some huge measures to be able to keep being in my ski for once.

People, we are on our way! ๐Ÿ˜‰

Competition a success!

Where should I start? I had one goal this season and that was to qualify to the Europa cup once more in both slalom and giant slalom. I didn’t really know what to expect from this competition but I knew that I had been hard at training in the beginning of this season with my new bucket and I had a really good feeling going into the competition. With an 8th and a 9th place I managed to qualify into the Europa cup in slalom which made me really happy. Overall I had a really good few days in The Netherlands in Landgraaf, Snowworld. It was fun seeing everyone again and I felt I’ve missed racing and the circuit a lot. This time it felt different, I was not so nervous, instead I felt that it was time for me to show them my true colors. Although I felt that I had more to give and I’m gonna show it when I’m gonna go and hunt for my giant slalom points in Pitztal and it will probably be my slalom premiere in the Europa cup. Can’t wait!!

Saas-Fee: Photobomb

Better late than never! With the release of my new movie yesterday I found it to be good that I actually wrote a post about my latest skiing journey to Saas-Fee in Switzerland! It has been a huge trouble finding places to ski at but my ski club and I managed to find the perfect spot. We had wonderful days with hard snow and a hard shining sun to say the least. We had three days of slalom and two days of giant slalom.

We were supposed to have three days of giant slalom as well but unfortunately it was to foggy one day and the slope chief didn’t let us set a course that day but we decided to free-ski instead and that wasn’t to bad either. I really feel that I’m evolving into a better skier ever since I had my new bucket made in the US together with Tyler. I’m really looking forward to what I can manage to do this season and this time I’m gonna do it right. Here are some pictures from the trip!

Visiting the US!

Posted on: July 19th, 2014 by simon | 2 Comments

Being in the US is awesome, really awesome! I’ve been here since saturday visiting my good friend Tyler Walker and his roommate Laurie Stephens who are both professional mono skiers for the US. One of the best actually. I was supposed to be here one day earlier but my flight got cancelled and when I arrived here my bags were gone so I had to wait one day before getting my bags. The reason I came to visit was just not because I wanted to visit them but because I’ve made a new bucket for my mono ski at Aspen seating. During my stay I’ve tried on some american culture like an true american breakfast, burritos and much more.

Day off.

Today I had my day off! I decided to shred the slopes of Tegefjall and Duved with some friends. I don’t know if there will be more training. We’ll just have to wait and see.
